Advocates protest against attack on Temple Priest, demanded ex gratia  to victim

Advocates of District Court protested at Martyrs’ Memorial Rock against the attack on Satyanarayana, a Hindu Priest of Shiva Sai Mandir at Pochamma Maidhan area in the Warangal city by Natiq Hussaini on Friday.  The severely injured Satyanarayana is currently undergoing treatment at local hospital.
Speaking to the press, advocates demanded that the state government must announce Rs. 10 Lakhs as an ex gratia to the victim and bear the other medical expenses until his health conditions becomes normal.
“Recently, the state government announced an ex gratia to victim of love-affair, but none from the government has even expressed solidarity to an age-old poor priest who was attacked by a person of other community” they added.
The attack was happened on 26th October, 2018 at around 5.30 AM by when the priest switched on the sound system during ‘Kagada Harathi time’ at Pochamma Maidan here.
Sirikonda Sanjivarao, member of Telangana BAR Council and Narasimha Rao, President of the Warangal BAR Association are among the protesters.
