In a inhuman act perpetrated on the hapless Hindu minority in Pakistan, another Hindu woman has been raped and murdered. This comes close on the heels of the murder of a Sikh youth in Peshawar a few days ago. It seem that the Pakistan government and administration have take no steps to end the sufferings of the minority communities there.
It has been reported that a Hindu women was abducted and then raped near her village in Khas district of Mirpur. The perpetrators of the crime had tied the hands and legs of the woman while committing the crime. She was beaten brutally and was left to rot in the jungle. Her body was found several days later when the incident came to light. Her legs was found to be broken when she was found. The inhuman way in which the woman was left to rot with injuries has angered Hindus in Pakistan and across the border.
Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing Harsimrat Kaur Badal took cognizance of the incident and express her anguish at the disturbing incident. “Deeply disturbed at rape & murder of minority Hindu woman in Mirpur Khas distt in #Pakistan. She was left to rot in jungle after her hands & legs were broken. “, she wrote on Twitter. She further said that women from minority communities are the biggest sufferers in Pak.
It can be recalled that the Sikh holy shrine at Nanakana Sahib was attacked last week by a Muslim mob when the Sikh girl who was forcefully converted and married to a Muslim man returned to her parents. The rampaging Muslim mob demanded that the Sikh girl be handed over to the Muslim family and in the process vandalized the shrine and injured many Sikhs residing there. Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur has also appealed to External Affairs Minister Dr Jaishankar to take up such cases of barbarity in UN.
With increasing attacks and crimes on Minorities in Pakistan, the country has failed to provide decent living conditions to its minority Hindu, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists, Jains and Parsis. Recently, Indian parliament passed the Citizenship Amendment Act to provide citizenship to these persecuted minorities from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
