Public Opinion on Muslim Reservations in Telangana

Telangana State BC Commission has decided to conduct “Public Hearing – Opinion Collection” on increasing the Reservations for Muslims from 4 percent to 9 percent in Education and Employment sector. The Opinions will be collected between 14-Dec-16 to 17-Dec-16 from 11AM to 5PM at Commission office (The block behind the Hyderabad Metro water works main office, Khairatabad), informed the Commission Chairman BS Ramulu, Members Dr. Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao, Dr. Anjaneya Goud and JooluruGouri Shankar. This was announced officially by Commission on Tuesday.

The Dr. Sudheer commission appointed by Telangana State Govt. to study the Muslim’s Social, Educational and Economic conditions has recently submitted its report to the Govt. In the report, it was recommended to increase the reservations to Muslims from 4% to 12% max. Telangana Govt. has ordered the BC commission to collect public opinions on these recommendations and submit a report. This public opinion survey is being conducted as per the Govt’s orders, said Telangana BC Commission Chairman and Members in an announcement.

“Interested people, Cast, Religious groups, organizations can participate in this hearing and submit their opinions in written or vocal form. The ‘Certification Affidavit’ available in the commission notification must be filled and opinions to be submitted. Opinions can also be submitted through e-mail (tscbcs2014@gmail.com)” said the Commission Chairman and Members.

Commission also mentioned that, the cut off time for opinions submitted Online or through Post will be 5PM on 19-Dec-16.
