Senior RSS Pracharak Sri MC Jayadev ji passed away in Bengaluru

Senior RSS Pracharak Sri MC Jayadev ji, 85 years, passed away in Sagar Hospitals Bengaluru on 20-Feb-2017 (Monday) morning 9am. He was suffering from old age illness since last few months.

The Antim Darshan was held at 12.00 noon, Keshavakrupa, RSS state headquarters in Bengaluru. Shraddhanjali Sabha will be held today at 5.00pm at Keshavakrupa. From 6.30pm onwards Antim Yatra will begin from Keshavakrupa. The body will be taken to his hometown Mysuru later today night. Final rites will be held at Mysuru tomorrow (21-Feb-2017- Tuesday) at 3.00pm.

Born in Mysuru on February 18, 1932 Mysuru Channabasappa Jayadev completed his graduation in Commerce. Later he pursued his Law Education. During his college days, he became a Swayamsevak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

In Bengaluru, he joined the reputed Hindustan Garage Motors as a manager and worked for few Years.

In 1960, MC Jayadev ji became Bengaluru Mahanagar Karyavah of RSS and served till 1975. He was one of the longest serving Mahanagar Karyavah of RSS Bengaluru unit.

MC Jayadev was jailed during anti-emergency movement in Novemner 1975. He was jailed in Basavanagudi in the first batch of the protest and was released on March 22, 1977 along with RSS veteran Yadava Rao Joshi ji.

In 1965, MC Jayadev ji pioneered the institution ‘Rashtrotthana Parishat’, now a leading service organisation of Karnataka. He was one of the founders of Rashtrotthana Parishat, served as general manager from 1965 to 1995 for almost 31years. During in his tenure, Rashtrotthana Parishat launched many new and innovative projects in the field of education, healthcare, literature and seva.

The unique concept of Bharata-Bharati, a series of biography on nationalist social workers and other prominent personalities of various walks of life, was one of the breakthrough project from Rashtrotthana Parishat. Bharata Bharati Book series created a new record in the field of Kannada literature. He also groomed several young intellectuals during this period and supported them to express their nationalist views. Today, Rashtrotthana Parishat has grown as one of the largest social organisation of the state. Rashtrotthana Blood Bank is the largest blood bank of Karnataka and Rashtrotthana Sahitya is one of the prominent publication house of the state.

Unmarried, very actively involved with RSS and several other social works, MC Jayadev became an RSS Pracharak in 1995. Since then Keshavakrupa was his headquarters.

MC Javadev was appointed as Sah-kshetreeya Pracharak in 2002. In 2004, he became Kshetreeya Pracharak heading the RSS activities of Karnataka and united Andhra Pradesh. In 2009, he was given the responsibility as Akhil Bharatiya Karyakarini Sadasya or Member of Electoral Executive of RSS. In 2012, he was invited as a member of the central executive committee. Since March 2015, Javadev ji was guiding the organisation as a senior Pracharak.

MC Jayadev supported various social organisations like Vanavasi Kalyan Ashrama, an RSS inspired organisation for tribal welfare, and also various socio-academic institutions such as Mythic Society, Anatha Shishu Nivasa, Abalashrama, Gokhale Institute of Public Affairs and many others. Due to Jayadev ji’s guidance all these organisations and institutions are now economically independent and financially stable.

MC Jayadev was known for his high organisational skills. He connected deeply with several eminent personalities in the sectors of Social Service, Education, Cinema, Politics, Business, Science, Healthcare, Literature etc.

RSS Sarasanghachalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat ji, RSS Sarakaryavah Sri Suresh Joshi (Bhaiyyaji ), RSS Sahsarakaryavah’s Suresh Soni, Dattatreya Hosabale, Dr Krishna Gopal, V Bhagaiah, senior functionaries Kajampady Subramanya Bhat, Mangesh Bhende, Mukunda CR, RSS Kshetreeya Sanghachalak V Nagaraj and other functionaries expressed their deep condolences on demise of RSS Pracharak MC Jayadev.
