Expressing their support to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) a group of Supreme Court lawyers led by Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad (ABAP) sang Vande Mataram on the lawns of the top court on Wednesday, reports TOI.

The group had lawyers such as Ashwini Upadhyaya, Prashanth Patel, Vishnu Jain and Hari Shankar Jain, among others from the ABAP. The lawyers said that their singing of Vande Mataram was to show their support to the Citizenship Amendment Act. The singing was organised at 1.45 PM on Wednesday after which the group departed from the venue. They also read the Preamble of the Constitution in Hindi and chanted Bharat Mata ki Jai.

The action of the lawyers of ABAP comes a day after anti-Modi lawyers like Prashant Bhushan, Salman Khurshid and Kamini Jaiswal, read the Preamble of the Constitution on the Supreme court’s lawns on Tuesday.
